About us

History

IRDA was created in March 1998 by four founding members, the Ministère de l’Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l’Alimentation (MAPAQ), the Union of Agricultural Producers (UPA – L’Union des producteurs agricoles), the Ministère du Développement durable, de l’Environnement et de la Lutte aux changements climatiques (MDDELCC) and the ministère de l'Économie, de l'Innovation et des Exportations (MEIE).

IRDA is a non-profit research corporation whose mission is to engage in agri-environmental research, development and transfer activities that foster agricultural innovation from a sustainable development perspective. Every year, IRDA conducts some 100 research projects in collaboration with numerous agricultural community and research partners.
