Advisor to the President and Chief Executive Officer
Roch Joncas has more than 30 years of experience in the field of agriculture in Québec. He is an engineer and agronomist and holds a master’s degree in agricultural engineering. He began his career at Ministère de l’Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l’Alimentation du Québec (MAPAQ) as a regional agricultural engineering consultant for the Vaudreuil-Soulanges area and subsequently for the Québec City area. He also served at MAPAQ as a technology development engineer in the engineering department and as a researcher at the Deschambault animal sciences research centre (Centre de recherche en sciences animales de Deschambault). He joined IRDA in 1998 as a researcher in agricultural engineering. From 2003 to 2014 he served as deputy scientific director, then as director of operations for the Quebec City area. From September 2016 to December 2019, he has held the position of Operations and Technology Transfer Manager. He has been appointed advisor to the President and Chief Executive Officer in December 2019.
