Olivier Breton-Bourgault (agr.) earned a bachelor's degree in agricultural sciences with a specialization in plant science from McGill University. Since completing his studies, Olivier has acquired solid experience in agricultural research and development. He has expertise in conducting and supervising field trials for fruit and market garden crops, as well as for field crops. In his previous jobs he was involved in research projects related to the registration and efficacy of plant protection products, the assessment of cultivars and hybrids, and the evaluation of various farming protocols. From 2011 to 2018, Olivier was employed by Centre de référence en agriculture et agroalimentaire du Québec (CRAAQ: the Québec reference centre for agriculture and agri-food) as the assistant coordinator for the Ministère de l’Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l’Alimentation du Québec Fertilizer Testing Assistance Program (Programme de soutien aux essais de fertilisation). In April 2018 he joined IRDA, where he works as a research assistant and supervises field trials for the fertilization chart revision project.
