Sylvie Bellerose holds a bachelor's degree in biological sciences from Université de Montréal. Prior to joining IRDA she supervised a beneficial insect production facility and then worked at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada as an acarology-entomology technician. In June 2019, Sylvie was appointed as a research assistant at IRDA. Over the years she has been involved in various fruit entomology projects aimed at reducing the impact of pesticide use and developing alternative pest management strategies. She is currently working on various market gardening projects with an emphasis on organic production.
Sylvie Bellerose has worked at IRDA for over 20 years and has held a variety of jobs in both research and management.
