Éric Dion, new director of business development and communications at IRDA

More than 20 years of experience in the fields of science and business development

Georges Archambault, president and chief executive officer of Institut de recherche et de développement en agroenvironnement (IRDA), is pleased to announce the appointment of Éric Dion as director of business development and communications. He will be tasked with negotiating partnerships with companies and collaborators to conduct research and development projects, work on the dissemination of knowledge, and secure marketing agreements that promote the deployment of innovations developed by IRDA.

Éric Dion has over 20 years of experience in the fields of science and business development. He completed his doctoral studies in plant biology, and also holds a master's degree in microbiology and a bachelor's degree in biochemistry, as well as marketing training from HEC Montréal.  He worked for four years at Biopterre, a college centre for technology transfer that specializes in the development of bioproducts, as scientific director and department director. In the 7 years following his appointment at Université Laval as a research professional and lecturer, he also served as a consultant in microbiology and plant biology to the private sector. For the past three years he was an industrial adviser at Centre de recherche industrielle du Québec (CRIQ).
