Alain Vachon

About

Alain Vachon has over 25 years of experience working as a lawyer. He holds a bachelor's degree in biology and a formation in environmental law.  He worked in private practice for 10 years, where he developed a solid knowledge of intellectual property in addition to pleading before the courts. During his career, he held management positions at the Centre de recherche industrielle du Québec (CRIQ) for more than nine years before joining the IRDA as Director of Corporate Affairs, Legal Affairs and Human Resources. Since August 27, 2021, he is the Institute's President and Chief Executive Officer.
