About
Joahnn Palacios is an agricultural engineer with a master's degree in agri-food engineering. He joined IRDA as a research assistant in 2009, straight out of the Colombian farm fields. Joahnn immediately immersed himself in the measurement and analysis of airborne emissions and air quality in agricultural settings and the conversion of biomass into energy. At IRDA he is involved in developing research project protocols, preparing applications for funding support, and monitoring, analyzing, and disseminating results. He also oversees the training and supervision of students and interns involved in research projects, and welcoming them into the fold.
