About
Paul Deschênes (agr., M.Sc.) earned both his bachelor's degree in agronomy in 2006 and his master's degree in soils and the environment in 2008 from Université Laval. He joined IRDA as a research assistant in 2009. His main areas of interest are soil physics and hydrodynamics, as well as irrigation management. Paul’s passion is the protection of agricultural land resources and he seizes every available opportunity to speak with agricultural producers he meets through his work. He especially enjoys the transfer of knowledge to farmers and conveying scientific information to non-scientific audiences. Since 2012 he has been actively involved in multidisciplinary projects related to organic farming, notably in the areas of soil fertility and green fertilizers.
